Pick-up on the farm
Mark and Lauren moved to NC from Philadelphia in 2016 to start their farming adventure. They attended the Living Web Farm Internship for 6 months in Mills River, NC where they learned everything from growing tomatoes to butchering chickens. They now have a 5 acre farm in Fruitland, NC, just down the street from Justus Orchard, with a high tunnel greenhouse, outdoor garden, fruit trees, Kune Kune pigs, laying hens, meat chickens, and a goose!
Everyday we will start with a farm walk to check on all our plants and animals together.

**Special Farm Event:
This year we will be raising 70 Cornish Cross Meat Chickens on the farm! They are due to arrive as DAY OLD CHICKS on May 15th.
A big part of Farm Camp this year will be observing the weekly growth of these birds. A Cornish Cross Meat Chicken will grow from a day old chick to a fully grown 6-8 pound chicken in 8 weeks! We will have limited availability for families interested to attend or participate in chicken processing on July 8th and/or to purchase whole chickens for their dinner table. Contact us for more details.
We have raised and harvested our organic meat chickens for 5 years now and are excited to open up this learning opportunity to the Farm Camp families.
